Where to Start the Research?

When you have to begin the optimisation for your website, you might wonder where to start the research. To start with, you can use some free downloadable keyword search tools like Goodkeywords or online search tools as Wordtracker free version. Later on when you are used to the concept, you can think about investing in paid software. Also these softwares that you initially use are free for a reason, aren’t they?

Start the Training

Start training yourself using tools like Wordtracker, Google Keyword tool and the Yahoo Tool. Once you become good at searching you will feel the need for a better tool.

After learning how to perform a good keyword research you can start maximizing these keyword results by using it for article marketing, adsense or ppc campaigns.

Good Tips on How to Get Good Keywords

In this article I will give you some good tips on how to get good keywords for you ad campaigns. First identify the keyword that describes your website the best and go to the Google Keyword Tool or Wordtracker Tool and type this keyword. If your website is about learning music then using the keyword “learn music” would help. Once you type the keyword in the search engine then it would display all the results of websites that have this particular keyword.

How to check competition?

Check the number of searches each keyword is bringing up and the competition for that keyword. Many times you will find that some keywords bring up many sites. If you find that there is competition for a particular keyword, then that keyword might be profitable. However you should realize the difference between profitable competition and too much competition.

Get Targeted Traffic

One easy way to find a good keyword is to use a long tail keyword. Typically when people are searching for a keyword they usually type in a long tail keyword instead of one word. For example if I am looking for roses I wouldn’t type in “flowers” which are very common or generic. But instead if I choose to use “rose bouquets online” my search becomes more specific. Even for a good ad campaign these kinds of keywords achieve more meaningful and targeted traffic.
